The St. Louis Chapter of the American Arcaheological Society consigned for sale the objects collected from the ancient site of Haragah, an Egyptian alabaster-travertine headrest, a fragment of double-sided limestone a limestone relief for Nefertiti, a Maya effigy vase from the site of Quirigua in Guatemala, and a Zapotec seated urn from the site of Monte Albán in Mexico.

It is reported that the governing board of the St. Louis Chapter of the AIA made the decision to place these objects on auction without the approval of its membership.
